Joyce Peters

Although Joyce is not currently an active lobbyist, she is still consulting behind the scenes with over 30 years experience in the public sector.  Joyce served ten years in the government sector, both federal and state, with experience in Congressman James C. Gardner's office, Office of Governor James E. Holshouser, Jr., the Commerce Department and the Revenue Department. She was the Chief of Staff for Lt. Governor James C. Gardner after his election in 1988 with responsibility for staff direction, research and policy, and legislative issues.

As Assistant Secretary for Administrative Services at the Department of Revenue, Joyce managed five divisions and oversaw the agency reorganization, occupancy preparations and move to the new Revenue Building.

After her state government service, Joyce began her 20 year career of lobbying and consulting with Roger Bone and Associates. After a 3 year association, in 1997, she began JP Associates representing clients with business, education and health care interests.

Joyce is a past member of the North Carolina Professional Lobbyist Association and served several terms on its Board of Directors. She is a past board member of the North Carolina Center for Public Policy.

Joyce is President of JP Associates, an independent Government Relations firm.
